I have over eleven years experience in the IT Industry, primarily design, installation, administration and maintenance of large networks. Proficient with system administration of HP-UX, SCO Unix and other Unix platforms, networking protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NetBeui and IPX/SPX as well as network management tools such as HP Openview and Transcend. Details of Projects Handled. June 1996 till Dec'2K

Networking of Ludhiana Stock Exchange for Online Trading (Aug 1996 - present)
This project was a turnkey project comprising of the installation of HP-9000 server and a large LAN of around 540 nodes within the same building connected to the server through nine hubstacks (3Com FMS LinkBuilder) and two 3Com Lanplex switches with a FDDI ring between server and switches and UTP connection from switches to hubs and from hubs to individual rooms.

Installation and configuration of HP 9000 K-400 server with HP-UX ver 10.01 as operating system.
Installation and configuration of all the hubstacks and switches.
Designing of the IP address scheme for the network.
Configuration of all the clients (Windows NT workstations) on the network.
Installation and configuration of Network Management System using TRASCEND Enterprise manager.
System Administration of HP 9000 Server.
Writing simple shell scripts for simplifying the user tasks.

Maintenance Activities
Providing maintenance and System Administration services to Ludhiana Stock Exchange ever since its installation till date for the HP 9000 server and the networking equipment.
Providing support to Jaipur Stock Exchange and Kanpur Stock Exchange as and when required.
Also maintaining various customer locations throughout Punjab,India.Main customers (IOC, SAIL, Railways, Oriental Insurance, UCO Bank) having a wide range of hardware and software mostly operating on SCO Unix, Windows NT and Windows 95.

Installation of L1000 servers at Ludhiana Stock Exchange (June2000 till date)

Recently Ludhiana Stock Exchange has purchased two L1000 servers to replace their existing K400 Server. These servers have been configured to work in hot standby mode using MC Service Guard.

Installation and configuration of both the servers with HP UX 11 and MC Service Guard.

Environment: L1000 servers, K400, HP UX 11, LVM, Mirror_UX, NFS, NIS, Glance Plus, MC Service Guard, HP Diagnostic Tools.

Y2K Upgradation at Ludhiana stock Exchange (Nov 1999 - Jan 2000)
This involved the upgradation of the HP_UX 10.01 to HP_UX 11.0 and Sybase 10 to Sybase 11.
Responsible for the loading and configuration of HP UX 11.0 on HP 9000 K 400 server.

Environment: HP-UX 10.01/11.0, LVM, Mirror_UX, Glance Plus, Sybase 10/11, HP 9000 K400

Union Bank of India (Apr - July 1999)

It involved the installation of LAN in all the regional offices and the head office of the Bank (Using Windows NT server and Windows NT workstations) and interconnectivity of all the offices using RAS connectivity and Microsoft Exchange Server.

Responsible for the installation of system at Jallandhar regional office of the Bank.

Environment: LAN, Windows NT servers and workstations, DHCP, DNS, RAS, Microsoft Exchange Server

Networking of Jaipur Stock Exchange for Online Trading (June - Aug 1998)
It was as a similar project as Ludhiana stock Exchange with HP9000 D350 server.

Installation of HP 9000 D350 server with HP-UX 11.0 as operating system.
Assist in the installation of networking components and addressing scheme.
Training the engineers posted at Jaipur on the HP system and the networking components.
Installation and configuration of Network Management System using HP Openview.

Networking of Container Freight Station Ludhiana (Nov 1997 - Feb 1998)
This project involved the installation of LAN for automation of the operations of container freight station. It was an interbuilding LAN comprising of both UTP and the Thick LAN with Compaq Server and Windows NT Server 4.0 as operating system.

Installation and configuration of Windows NT 4.0 Server on Compaq.
Installation of UTP and Thick LAN.
Configuration of Windows 95 clients on the network.

UCO Bank (Apr - May 1997)
This project involved the installation of Sco SVR4.2 in various branches of UCO bank throughout India.

Responsible for the installation of the SVR4.2 with Windows 95 clients at Ludhiana branch of UCO bank.

Environment: SVR4.2 LAN, TCP/IP, and Windows 95/98.

June 1992 - May 1996

Indian oil Corporation Ltd. (June 1994 - April 1996):

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd is a Fortune 500 Company and India's biggest Oil Company. The project involved installation of Unix Severs and dumb terminals at various locations throughout India.

Steel Authority of India Ltd. (June 1992 - May 1994).
SAIL, as this is popularly known in India is the largest producer of steel and iron products in India . It has its branches throughout India and I had the pleasure to be involved in the total computerisation of this company.

All the activities carried out were similar to the Indian Oil computerisation project. My job was that of a System Administrator. Thin lan was used to connect Lan and Vsat for Wan connectivity.

Jan 1990 - May 1992

International Airports Authority of India, Cargo Terminal, Import/ Export Division, New Delhi.
IAAI is one of the most modern and biggest cargo terminal in India. The project involved installation of Unos OS, which was a derivative of AT&T Unix, on 68000 and 680020 processor minis. The terminal was spread over many buildings. My job involved installation of hardware, OS, System administration, connecting dumb terminals via line drivers , user mgmt, backups nad hardware management.

Vijaya Bank, New Delhi
This project involved total brach computerisation. This is a reputed bank in India. The project involved installing mini computers with Unix OS and connecting dumb terminals and printers. My job was that of a system and network administrator in addition to providing maintenance services.

Police Headquarters, New Delhi
This was a project similar to the above project and my job was that of a Unix system administrator.
